Today we pulled the first of our garlic which was planted in the Autumn, we will use it along with some of our fresh herbs to make flavoured olive oil. We also planted out some pumpkins, our butternut squash plants are looking good too!
We aim to develop our school garden to educate our students about where their food comes from, and to promote sustainable ways of producing food. Our students are given the opportunity to gain knowledge, expertise and life skills through hands-on, skills based learning. The work we do with out students in the garden is a vital vehicle which our staff use to build relationships, deliver nurture sessions and re-engage our students who at times can experience barriers to their learning.
