Today we released 4 tiny frogs into our school pond, they seemed to like jumping around in their new home. We will enjoy watching them grow and hope that they will help our garden out by eating up lots of slugs and other garden pests.
We aim to develop our school garden to educate our students about where their food comes from, and to promote sustainable ways of producing food. Our students are given the opportunity to gain knowledge, expertise and life skills through hands-on, skills based learning. The work we do with out students in the garden is a vital vehicle which our staff use to build relationships, deliver nurture sessions and re-engage our students who at times can experience barriers to their learning.
