Today we have been looking at the wildflowers growing in our garden, we decided to sow a whole bed with wildflower seeds (which were sent to us by The RHS Campaign for School Gardening), in the spring to try to attract lots of bees to our garden.
We aim to develop our school garden to educate our students about where their food comes from, and to promote sustainable ways of producing food. Our students are given the opportunity to gain knowledge, expertise and life skills through hands-on, skills based learning. The work we do with out students in the garden is a vital vehicle which our staff use to build relationships, deliver nurture sessions and re-engage our students who at times can experience barriers to their learning.
