Today we had a veggie stall at school to sell some of the produce we have been picking and harvesting from our garden.
A box full of fresh herbs.
Some hungarian hot wax peppers
Purple beans.
Some of the sweetcorn we picked from the garden yesterday.
A selection of tomatoes picked from the poly-tunnel.
A crate of sweetcorn picked from the garden. The students were amazed by how strong the stems of the plant were and how hard they were to pull out of the ground.
We sold some of the corn and cooked the rest for our students to sample. We made some chili butter to go with the corn using one of our chilies. We also made a tomato salad with a few of our ripe tomatoes, some basil, olive oil and a bit of rock salt - yum!
We tried to learn how to take some cuttings from some of our ever green plants.
Cuttings were taken and leaves were stripped of the bottom of each cutting.
We put all the cuttings into jars of water to attempt to get them to root. We will look at them next week to see if any little roots have appeared.
We have been keeping eggs this week to sell on our veggie stall on Friday.
A basket of our garden veg, which a member of staff ordered. We put in Kale, Cucumber, Courgette, Potatoes, Tomatoes, Garlic, Onions, Chilies, Beans, Mint and some Sweet Peas
