15th April - Visiting the new site for the garden

Today we visited the site of what will be our new garden.  We hope to be putting up a poly-tunnel and constructing more raised beds.  We plan to finally be able to plant our fruit trees and fruit bushes too.

Our pond has suffered a bit from the demolition of the surrounding buildings - there are a few bits of wood and insulation floating around in the water, but we will give it a clean.  The plants are all starting to grow and will do their bit to keep the water clean.

We spotted some frog-spawn in the pond - so the frogs we put in the pond a few weeks ago must still be around.

Some more of the bulbs we planted last year have come out.

Purple sprouting broccoli, which looks about ready to pick and cook with.

Potatoes are starting to put shoots through the soil and will need to be earthed up.

Our Comfrey is starting to grow again.

Japanese Onions.

Signs of life in our wildflower bed - I think this is a little Nasturtium?

Some more little seedlings growing in the wildflower bed - we are not really sure what these are?

Summer bulbs are starting to make an appearance.

Our new flower bed is looking very nice, we noticed lots of bees buzzing around the flowers.

A selection of some of the flowers we have in the garden at the moment.

Our young fruit trees are starting to blossom - I think that this one might be a pear tree?
